The core of Mongolian bow handle is made from Yangir’s (wild goat) horn all the way from one end to the other end. Several layers of fiber from the Yak bull’s muscle sinew were applied by glue on top of the horn. The horn core is sandwiched by wood at its two ending parts. The ending parts of the handle have no special decoration.
The outside skin of the bow was made from the bark of a birch tree and painted for decorations. The arrow is made from wood and has a horn head and bird’s feather wings. The string consists from 3 parts: the main part and 2 loops at the end of the main part. The main part of the string is made from nylon wrapped by cotton threads. The loops are made from animal skin thongs.
